Director Ophelia Powell-Torres, RN, BSN, MA

Ophelia is a Nurse Educator with 45 years of extensive experience in the healthcare arena. She currently works as a Nurse Educator specializing in medical-surgical consulting in St. Thomas, Virginia. She additionally performs at an exceptional level as an HIV-AIDS Consultant. Over the course of her career, Ophelia served as an EKG Technician and accrued a vast expertise in phlebotomy. 

 

Ophelia acquired her Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nursing from New York University and her Master’s Degree of Arts from Columbia University. Furthermore, she was inducted into the Sigma theta Tau International Honor Society. [via IBWire.com]

 

She has worked in various hospitals in New York City and became Assistant Director of Nursing at Metropolitan Hospital. She has trained many students as a professor of nursing at various colleges for the City University of New York and the University of the Virgin Islands – St Thomas.

 

Mrs Powell-Torres has co-authored two books Caribbean Poetry, Folktales and Short Stories Vol I and Caribbean Poetry, Folktales and Short Stories Vol II. She hosts a radio talk show on WGOD 97.9FM focusing on health issues. And, she continues her passion to train Certified Nursing Assistants and Home Health Aides via Hands On Care LLC.

Staff consists of carefully selected professionals who are dedicated to the well being of clients. All healthcare professionals are well-trained and maintain VI licenses and/or certification as required.

 

They include Physicians, Registered Nurses (RN), Licenses Practical Nurses (LPN), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Home Health Aides (HHA), and baby sitters.
